Infrared Sauna: A 4-Step Guide For Beginners

Just bought an infrared sauna, but unsure how to use it? Don’t worry because it’s not that hard to enjoy and benefit from it. Follow these four steps to help get you started.

Set the right temperature

Beginners may not know how much heat they can stand, and this is why it’s important to start at the most basic level. Most sauna users prefer a temperature of between 100 and 140 degrees for far infrared saunas. However, if this is your first time and you’re feeling unsure, then you may want to set it at 100 degrees or below. Most people find this to be a comfortable temperature, allowing your body to gradually get used to the heat.

Keep Hydrated

You’ll be sweating a lot inside the sauna, so you need to keep yourself hydrated. Drink a glass of water before coming in. You may also want to take a bottle of water or a sports electrolyte replacement drink with you to avoid dehydration.

Bring Extra Towels

To prevent the sauna bench from absorbing your sweat that may contain toxic chemicals, you need extra towels. Wipe your sweat when it becomes too much to avoid wetting the sauna bench. You may also place a towel on the bench and under your feet.

Relax and Enjoy

Sauna is a place to unwind. So, free your mind of worries and stress and simply bask in the peace and quiet. You can also bring a book to read or listen to music as you let the heat relax your tight muscles.

Following these steps will help you make the most of that infrared sauna you just bought, getting you the most value for your money.
