Far-infrared saunas have recently been gaining popularity among celebrities and sauna aficionados. The buzz is all about how great this type of sauna makes them feel, as well as the afterglow that they claim to have after each session. Moreover, the infrared sauna is regarded as a great improvement over the conventional steam sauna, as it does not have the drying effects of the latter.
But, while far-infrared saunas (or FIR saunas) are largely safe and beneficial, there are some concerns about their overall safety due to EMF emission.

EMFs (electromagnetic fields) are invisible waves of energy that are associated with electrically charged objects (e.g. home appliances, wireless devices).
